What Segway has announced
The Segway press release from September 7, 2026 lists both vehicles as upcoming models and establishes the European launch month. It serves as a primary source for the manufacturer's planning. It does not contain a binding German delivery date or a complete data sheet for the German sales version.
For interested parties, this means there is now a more concrete timeframe. However, this announcement alone is not sufficient for a reliable comparison between both scooters.
What the KBA list proves
The KBA list of issued operating permits for small electric vehicles includes the trade names "Segway eKickScooter Ninebot MAX G3 Pro" and "Segway eKickScooter ZT3 Max" alongside the types and approval numbers mentioned above. The table is current as of August 27, 2026.
We saved it as a comparative basis for the first time on September 7 and retrieved it again on September 8. In this comparison, there were no added, removed, or changed lines. The August entries are therefore not presented here as new registrations today.
The official list and the manufacturer's announcement complement each other: one names the approval, type, and holder; the other describes the planned European market launch. The list does not replace a full product data sheet or the testing of a specific sales version.
What information is still missing
Prices, final equipment, and German delivery dates remain open according to the verified sources. In particular, we do not apply battery, motor, or chassis data from the MAX G3 and ZT3 Pro to the newly named models. Similar housings or model names are also no proof that parts, accessories, or skins will fit.
Anyone who already owns a scooter cannot derive a promised software upgrade or new features for their existing vehicle from this announcement. This would require specific, model-related approvals from the manufacturer.
Our assessment for skin planning
The combination of the KBA entry and the announced launch date makes both models relevant for our monitoring. Before developing a custom-fit skin set, however, we need the final series geometry, suitable photos or a scan, and a real-world installation test. Visible similarity to the predecessor is not enough for this.
