Applying Segway Ninebot G3 skins: How to prepare the surfaces, organize the stickers, and avoid common mistakes when aligning and applying them.
This guide accompanies the installation of a matching G3 kit. The material and installation specifications provided with your chosen set determine the cleaning agents, processing temperature, application method, and waiting times.

Before applying: Check the model and parts
The G3 parts in this set are intended for the Segway Ninebot MAX G3 model family, including the G3E and G3D. The G2, GT3, and ZT3 have their own specific cut shapes. Before applying, place each piece with its backing paper in its intended position.
For the G3 Red Forged Carbon set, the product description lists 30 stickers, four extra stickers, and instructions with a video. This quantity applies to this specific offer. For other designs, check the scope of delivery indicated there.
Lay the set out on a clean surface. Keep a soft, lint-free cloth and the tools recommended in your set's instructions ready. If using a squeegee, the contact edge should be clean, undamaged, and softly covered to protect the design.
Installing G3 skins: six steps
- Prepare the scooter. Switch off the G3, disconnect the charger, and place it securely in a dry, well-lit workspace. The scooter and the vinyl must be within the temperature range specified for the set.
- Clean the surfaces. Remove dust and dirt using a cleaner suitable for vinyl and the surface material. Allow joints to dry completely as well. Do not apply to loose coatings or areas that are still damp.
- Match parts with backing paper. First, hold each part against its intended surface. Compare the left and right sides, cutouts, and pattern orientation. Do not remove the backing paper until the positioning is clear.
- Align one part. For a dry application as specified in the set instructions, expose only a small adhesive area at first. Align the part using its fixed reference edges without stretching the vinyl.
- Apply step-by-step. Gradually peel away the backing paper and work evenly toward the free edge using the appropriate squeegee. If the piece is crooked or a fold appears, stop; only correct it as permitted by the vinyl instructions.
- Check and let rest. Inspect edges and cutouts. Lighting, reflectors, markings, ports, and moving connections must remain clear. Observe the material-dependent waiting time before riding or cleaning.
Important for G3: Recognize component boundaries
Multiple surfaces meet at the transition between the stem, front frame, and deck. Organize long, narrow parts and smaller covers separately. A design may appear to flow across surfaces, but the vinyl should not bridge any moving connections.

The textured footboard must be distinguished from the side cladding. Display protection is also a separate application area. The quantity of pieces in the set does not imply that every visible surface should be covered.
Frequently asked questions about wrapping
Should I use water or dish soap?
Only if the instructions for that specific vinyl explicitly provide for a wet application. A method used for a different type of vinyl cannot be automatically transferred.
What should I do if a sticker seems too short?
First, verify the part, the side of the vehicle, and the alignment using the set instructions. Do not stretch the vinyl to compensate for an incorrect application. If you have an installation question, please let us know the model, design, and the part in question.
Do I need a hairdryer, or do I have to cut on the scooter?
We do not provide a general rule for this. A pre-cut set should first be clearly identified. Heat treatment and finishing depend on the material and the specific area; do not improvise if the fit is unclear.
What is the difference between a skin and a protective laminate?
The skin carries the design. Whether the offer also includes a protective laminate or offers it as an selectable option is stated on the product page. A laminate is not a substitute for proper surface preparation or correctly applied edges.
